Located in Port Angeles, it is easiest to fly into the SeaTac Airport in Seattle. It is located in the Olympic National Park right outside Port Angeles. Hurricane Ridge reaches a mile high and offers an experienced unparalleled to every other place in the Pacific Northwest! This is a family-oriented ski and snowboard area. Once you get to the Olympic National Park, they take your tag and charge you a one-time fee of $15 to drive onto the park grounds.

Everything here is so affordable compared to the rest you won’t even believe it. For you and your children, their full ski rentals with a helmet, skis, boots and poles included is only $30 per day. The lift rates are unbelievable. It will only cost you an average of $12-$15 to go on the lift daily.

Once you have finished with all your fun for the day on the mountain, you can drive back to beautiful and tranquil Port Angeles to lodge in the Royal Victorian Motel which rates start at $44 per night ranging to $93 during the winter with a $5 additional fee per person in the room. This is for a room with double queens and separate bedrooms!

When you wake up in the morning and before you go to lay your head down for the night you can visit many different types of affordable eateries in Port Angeles. For a more upscale and classy dining experience you can visit restaurants such as Michael’s Seafood & Steakhouse or Sabai Thai. For a more casual eating experience with your family you can visit the Corner House Restaurant and Lounge which is more of a homey diner type restaurant with great prices and even better food!

The second resort we are going to look at is called Crystal Mountains. One of the slogans for this resort is that it is “Washington’s Biggest Playground.” They offer both skiing and snowboarding for recreation, and also teach lessons.

So first thing is first. How are you going to get there? During the winter, both families and individuals do a lot of traveling because of the important holidays. Whoever you’re with there are a few budget-friendly lodging options when visiting Crystal Mountain. To save the most money you can visiting Crystal Mountain, it is most- penny-wise to lodge in a town 9 miles from the mountain called Enumclaw. Here you can stay at the Park Center Hotel for just $70 per night. It is a unique beautiful little hotel in a quiet setting just 9.83 miles from the mountain.

Actually visiting the mountain for the day you will be paying $60 for an entire day on the ski lift for adults and it is free for all children under 10 years of age. This includes the rentals you will need for the day and access to you daily ski lift. They also provide lessons for those of us who don’t know what we’re doing and think it sounds fun, new, and exciting. If you need lessons along with this they have a great deal that they offer! For the entire day you will be charged $180 for the whole family. This price will include all of your equipment needed, a private five-hour lesson with your family, your lift tickets for the day, and another day of lift tickets to help hone your skills!

Going to a nice place to eat after you finish a long day of skiing is nice. You burn up so many calories and use up so much energy while on the mountain, it’s time to restore your appetite by the time the sun starts to fall and they are closing up the mountain activities for the night. There are many mom-and -pop type restaurants in Enumclaw where you will be staying nightly, however a few affordable dining picks on the mountain. If you are looking for a luxurious dinner you can visit the Summit House Restaurant located on the mountain. For a more casual yet fanciful evening out with your family try some of the mountain favorites such as BullWheel Pub & Grill, The Snorting Elk Deli or the Glacier Express. If you are looking to sit down for a beautiful view and a casual dining experience, then look no further than the Alpine Inn Restaurant.
